Being a good company means more than turning a profit. It means being a good citizen, too. At On Hold Company, that is something we take seriously.
We have donated our on-hold message services to Community Renewal International. This great organization based here in Shreveport, La., works to restore safe and caring communities through personal relationships. They have been around since 1994, just like us.
There are three components to Community Renewal’s strategy:
The Renewal Team unites individuals, churches, businesses and civic groups as caring partners building a stronger city.
Haven House volunteers bring neighbors together through various activities. Haven House leaders may host block parties, take meals to a sick neighbor, help find a lost pet, share garden produce or just offer a listening ear.
Friendship Houses are homes built in low-income areas and lived in by Community Renewal staff. Each house contains a large community room for tutoring, computer training, character-building and much more.
Here’s a quote from Community Renewal founder Mack McCarter: “Many people have had their dreams crushed, and through the power of friendship we give them the courage to dream again.” What Community Renewal has done in Shreveport has become a model for communities all over the world.
As our way of saying thanks, On Hold Company is providing on-hold messages for Community Renewal to share their mission with callers from around the globe.
